As you can see, the issue date of Khimairal Ink has changed. I made a "you're the boss" decision when I saw the deadlines for our other publications arriving about the same time in April. In order for us to maintain the quality that we demand of ourselves and for Mindancer to recode the "Um, could you move that over a bit" . . . "maybe change the font again" . . . "uh, add a bit more color?" to the PDF and web versions of the e-zine, we needed the extra month. The next Khimairal Ink e-zine will be in September followed by the January issue.

We've been extremely pleased by the numerous hits this literary magazine has generated. We are closing in on the 300,000 mark. The submissions acceptance rate is steadily increasing, a positive sign that our stickler gene is encouraging people as they find a place to share their well-written stories.

We've added a bit more to the magazine's format this month. We've imposed graphics on the opening page in tandem with Trish Ellis's provocative drawings. The photos were taken by our staff and tweaked by the very talented T.J. Mindancer. In this issue, a theme of enlightenment weaves through our diverse story selection. Barbara Davies's characters experience it rather humorously as she shares an excerpt from her new book, Christie and the Hellcat, published by Nuance Books, a division of Bedazzled Ink. We also welcome back Tyree Campbell and Sias Bryant. Tyree's "Fade to Rose" is just a really neat story. All I could say when I finished it was "Wow! How cool is that!" The imagery is out of this world, so to speak. Sias, on the other hand, gives us a sweet, slice-of-life tale from the American heartland in the "Last Row of Wheat." Finally, we're delighted with the little bit of extra creativity as Sheela Ardrian shares the insight of the "Women of Gomorrah" in poetic verse.

Again I'd like to thank the readers for finding and supporting these great writers and artists.

See you next issue!

Claudia
